Community Clean Up: Friday June 14, 2024
May 21, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City is pleased to announce that the annual community clean up will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We encourage all residents, businesses and visitors to spend the day outdoors and assist in cleaning up our beautiful community.

Bags, gloves, and other supplies will be available for pickup starting at 8:30 AM outside the Iqaluit Library/Unikkaarvik Visitor Center.

Please tie off and leave filled garbage bags on roadsides. City staff will conduct bag pick-ups throughout the day.

We are requesting that governments and other organizations allow their employees time away from work for a half day to be able to participate at the community clean up.

There will be a volunteer appreciation cookout outside the Iqaluit Library and the Unikkaarvik Visitor Center from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at which residents will be served hotdogs and drinks.

The Community Clean Up Team would like to thank residents, organizations and sponsors in advance for your assistance and support with this event.

In the case of inclement weather, there is an alternative date scheduled for Thursday, June 20th, 2024. To report any missed garbage bags after June 14th, please contact Briana Shaimaiyuk-Baines at B.Shaimaiyuk-Baines@iqaluit.ca or call 867-979-5630.
