City of Iqaluit Recreation Events for the 2022 Holiday Season

The Holidays are almost here! We hope that you will all come out and help us celebrate. Check out what we have planned below.

Santa Claus Parade

Join us on Saturday December 3rd, 2022 to kick off the holiday season with our annual Santa Claus Parade. For those participating will meet at the AWG Arena at 12:00pm, the parade will start at 1:00pm.

There is no cost to participate and registration ends on Thursday December 1st, 2021.

Santa Claus Visit

Returning again this year is a visit with Santa Claus, which will coincide with the Santa Claus Parade. Once the parade ends, Santa will enter the Elders Qammaq for a chance to get pictures with him. This event will run from 2-4pm.

No cost to participate and the event is open to the public, no need to register!

Qammakuluit Christmas Lights Contest

The annual Qaummakuluit Christmas Lights Contest returns this year. Open to all businesses and residents. No need to register! Simply have your lights and decorations on and ready from 3-7pm on Wednesday December 14th. Winners will be announced on Thursday December 15th!

Holiday Themed Cookie Decorating Contest!

Submit your holiday themed cookie photo(s) by direct messaging the City of Iqaluit Recreation Facebook page. We will be accepting submissions from December 5th-18th. Winners will be announced on Monday, December 19th.

All of these events are free for the public!
