Celebrating Volunteer Appreciation Awards Night
November 22, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit is proud to celebrate the incredible contributions of our community members at the Volunteer Appreciation Awards Night held on November 14. This evening was dedicated to recognizing individuals and organizations who give their time, energy, and skills to make Iqaluit a stronger and more vibrant place for everyone.
Congratulations to the 2024 Volunteer Award recipients:
- Sports and Recreation Award: Jeremy Paul Smith, for his inspiring leadership in local sports initiatives.
- Arts and Culture Award: Cassidy-Ann Netser, whose dedication brings creativity and cultural richness to our community.
- Youth Volunteer Award: Darius Kunuk-Qaunaq, a shining example of youth making a difference.
- Community Development Award: Anika Bychok, recognized for her unwavering commitment to community projects (pictured with Tay Campbell).
- Service Organization Award: Pivinit Thrift Store, a cornerstone in providing essential resources (pictured in image 2).
- Ikayuqtimarik (Great Helper) Award: Tyson Prusky, celebrated for his reliable support and kindness (pictured with Naja Pearce in image 1).
These individuals and groups embody the spirit of generosity and unity that make our city truly special.
The City of Iqaluit encourages all residents to consider the value of volunteering.
