Building 902 and Motion #22-17
March 23, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

During City Council Meeting held on January 25, 2022, Council directed Administration to engage with the owners of the Frobisher Racquet Club, to discuss possibly purchasing Building 902. Pending inspections, appraisal and finding funding, the hope was to develop the space into a Youth Wellness Hub.

By way of this motion, Council stated an interest in acquiring the Racquet Club at some point in the future. The work to develop a plan and obtain funding was in the very early stages, and has not progressed substantially.
As requested by the Frobisher Racquet Club, the City would like to state that it has not purchased the Frobisher Racquet Club and it is not the City’s intention to purchase this building.
