Annual Aquatic Centre Maintenance Closure
July 23, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of the upcoming annual maintenance closure of the Iqaluit Aquatic Centre gym and pool.
The gym and pool will be closed from Monday, July 27 to Sunday, August 2.
Following this closure, the pool will remain closed from Sunday, August 2 to Sunday, August 16. The gym is expected to reopen on August 3.
The City understands that an extended pool closure can be frustrating for residents, families, swimmers, and community groups who rely on the Aquatic Centre for recreation, fitness, programming, and connection. We appreciate the community’s patience while this important annual maintenance work is completed.
Annual maintenance allows staff to complete necessary work that helps keep the Aquatic Centre safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone who uses it throughout the year. Completing this work each year helps support the long-term care of the facility and ensures it can continue serving the community.
The City will make every effort to complete the work as efficiently as possible and will provide updates if there are any changes to the reopening schedule.
The City of Iqaluit thanks residents for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during this annual maintenance closure.
