Access Restricted to Unnamed Lake
August 24, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is advising residents that use of the gated road to the Unnamed Lake is prohibited. Areas adjacent to the road and Unnamed Lake pumping access are restricted from public use.

A gate, fencing and signage is available at the site to advise the public of the restricted access.

The City is asking the public to avoid areas under construction and areas where emergency pumping to fill the reservoir are taking place due to safety concerns. Heavy equipment and vehicles are working in these areas, which pose a risk to vehicles and pedestrians. In addition, the construction site and access road to Unnamed Lake must remain clear of vehicles and pedestrians to avoid any disruptions to the work that could result in pumping delays.
