2026 Summer in the Square

August 4, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

Summer is here, and the City of Iqaluit is excited to welcome residents and visitors back to Summer in the Square on Saturday, August 15.

The Chili Cook-Off is back and ready to heat things up! Whether you're entering your best recipe or simply looking to taste some of Iqaluit's finest homemade chili, there's something for everyone. After the judges have made their decisions, the chili will be served to the community beginning at approximately 1:00 p.m., so be sure to stop by and enjoy a bowl while supplies last! Registration details for competitors will be posted on the City of Iqaluit Recreation Department's Facebook page.

The Summer in the Square Market begins at 1:00 p.m. Browse a variety of local vendors featuring handmade goods, crafts, artwork, baked treats, and more while supporting local businesses and artisans.

Local vendors interested in participating can register by contacting Dominik Gagne at d.gagne@iqaluit.ca. Please include a brief description of the products you will be selling.

Come out, support local, enjoy some great chili, and spend the day with friends, family, and neighbours. We look forward to seeing you at Summer in the Square!
