Aquatic Centre Reopening
August 14, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to advise residents that the Aquatic Centre pool will reopen following its annual maintenance on August 16, 2026. With the reopening of the pool, the full Aquatic Centre facility will once again be operational.

Residents are asked to please note the following temporary programming changes for the remainder of August:

• Aquafit classes will not be offered during the month of August.
• The 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. lane swim has been cancelled due to staffing shortages.

Residents should also be aware that additional short-notice changes to swim schedules or capacities may be required through the end of August due to staff availability. The City will make every effort to keep residents informed as soon as possible about any changes as they arise.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as our team works to provide safe and enjoyable aquatic programming with the staff available.

We look forward to welcoming residents back to the pool and thanks everyone for their patience during the annual maintenance period.
