City of Iqaluit Summer Student Opportunities
June 24, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
Looking to earn some money, build your resume, and make a difference in your community this summer? The City of Iqaluit is hiring high school and post-secondary students for a variety of summer jobs, and we’d love to have you on our team.
We’re offering casual positions in departments like Public Works, Recreation, Planning, and Administration. Whether you enjoy working with people, organizing projects, or spending time outdoors, there’s something here for you. Depending on the job, you’ll be working 35 to 40 hours a week, with pay based on the position and department.
These opportunities are open to current students who live in Iqaluit, including those away at school. We're looking for students who are reliable, ready to learn, and willing to pitch in where needed. Some roles may involve outdoor work in tough weather conditions or places with strong smells, so if you’ve got a strong work ethic and don’t mind getting your hands a little dirty, that’s a bonus.
To be eligible, you need to be a current high school or post-secondary student, able to follow instructions, work safely, and treat staff and residents with respect. A Criminal Record Check is required for all positions. If you speak Inuktitut or French, that’s a great asset too.
If you’re interested, send your application to HR@iqaluit.ca, drop it off at City Hall, or apply online at www.iqaluit.ca/careers.
Come spend your summer doing something that matters and get paid while you’re at it.
