Flag Raising in Support of Pride Month

The City of Iqaluit will raise the Pride flag at City Hall from June 9 to June 16 in recognition of Pride Month. This annual tradition reflects the City’s commitment to inclusion and support for 2SLGBTQIA+ members of our community.

Each June, communities across the country take time to recognize Pride Month in ways that reflect their own people and places. In Iqaluit, it is a time to celebrate the diversity within our city and show continued support for a welcoming and inclusive community.

Raising the Pride flag is one of the ways the City joins with residents and organizations in showing solidarity, and creating space for connection, celebration, and community.

The City encourages everyone to take part in Pride in ways that are meaningful to them, whether that means joining local events, supporting friends and family, sharing stories, or simply reflecting on the importance of inclusion and respect in our daily lives.
