Conclusion of Inuit Youth Swim Pass Program
May 26, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) for their collaboration in offering free swim passes to Inuit children and youth at the Aquatic Centre through the Inuit Youth Hope Fund.
Launched on March 17, 2025, this initiative provided 3,125 free drop-in swim passes for Inuit children and youth ages 0 to 30. As of today, all passes have been distributed, and the program is now concluded.
The City is deeply grateful for the overwhelming response and enthusiasm shown by residents. The strong turnout reflects our community’s commitment to supporting youth wellness, physical activity, and cultural inclusion. It was truly inspiring to see so many families take part and make use of this opportunity.
We look forward to continuing this partnership with QIA and exploring future initiatives that build on the success of this program and foster a welcoming, active environment for all.
