Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted
The City would like to advise all residents that, effective immediately, the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for Iqaluit is lifted. This include residents on Trucked Services. A Boil Water Advisory is a standard requirement whenever there is a significant change to the water treatment process, and is a precautionary measure only.
The Multi-tank Bypass remains in operation at this time. Water from Lake Geraldine bypasses all concrete tanks at the Water Treatment Plant, and is first strained, and then treated using both UV and chlorine disinfection prior to entering the distribution system.
The City continues to monitor for the presence of hydrocarbons using the real-time monitoring stations installed at the Water Treatment Plant.
Residents experiencing issues with water quality are asked to contact the Water Quality Hotline at 979-
5603.
