Reporting to the Superintendent of Sanitation Operations, the employee is responsible for the supervision of daily operation and co-ordination of municipal garbage collection, as well as, the operation of one of the service vehicles during each shift.

The Building Maintainers as part of a team, are responsible for the general upkeep and provides maintenance and minor repairs of all the City owned Facilities, Buildings and related equipment.

Under the direction of the Manager Water/Sewer Services, the incumbent will ensure effective, efficient, and safe delivery of trucked municipal water/sewer service. You will develop and maintain delivery schedules, supervise staff, maintain maintenance management system and assist with developing departmental work plans and budgets.

Under the direction of the Garage Foreman/Service Manager, the incumbent will carry-out the maintenance and repairs of all City of Iqaluit owned and operated vehicles and equipment in a safe and secure manner. The incumbent will keep up-to- date work orders and records including parts used and hours spent on each activity. They will also prepare parts and material lists for review and processing.
