Honouring Remembrance Day

November 11, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

On this Remembrance Day, the City of Iqaluit joins communities across the country in pausing to honour the sacrifices and service of all who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces. From historic global conflicts to modern peacekeeping missions, their dedication and bravery have ensured safety, stability, and freedom for generations.

We pay tribute not only to those who fought on battlefields but also to those who supported essential efforts behind the lines. Their combined contributions remind us of the strength found in unity and the profound impact of working together for a shared purpose.

Today, we reflect on the enduring legacy of veterans and acknowledge the sacrifices of their families, who have supported them through challenges and triumphs. As we observe a moment of silence, we remember their courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to a better future.

Let us not only remember but also strive to honour their sacrifices by fostering peace, understanding, and respect in our communities and beyond.

Lest we forget.
