ABE OKPIK HALL OPEN HOUSE AND MOVIE NIGHT FOR YOUTH MAY 17
The City is pleased to invite residents to an open house and movie night for youth at the Abe Okpik Hall in Apex this Friday, May 17th. Participants will be able to view the newly renovated building as well as enjoy refreshments.
From 5:30 PM to 6:30pm, residents can tour the facility, and enjoy country food, bannock and tea.
From 6:45 PM to 8:15 PM, Recreation staff will be hosting a movie night suitable for youth 6-12 years old. Juice boxes will be served alongside movie theatre style popcorn, popped fresh on site.
Closed since mid-April 2019, the hall has undergone a $111,000 renovation. Upgrades include a new floor, renovated washrooms, and an entirely redesigned kitchen with stainless steel appliances, appropriate for multiple purposes.
The renovated facility will provide a more efficient use of space for activities, such as after-school programs and movie nights. The building is also available to rent – standard recreation rates apply.
